Hotel rooms
The Sandgate Hotel was built specifically as a small hotel in the mid-1800s, serving the growing importance of Folkestone as an elegant Victorian seaside resort.
There’s little Victorian about our bedrooms now, unless you count the original balconies at the front overlooking the sea (some pleasures never change).
The rooms extend the sophisticated informality of our bars and dining room to our private spaces. They are designed to be simple and detach you from the pressures of day-to-day life without smothering you in a false antiquity. All rooms have fully modernised en-suite bathrooms.
Most rooms have full sea views and four rooms have balconies overlooking the sea. Even the two rear rooms look out on a pleasant, characteristic row of seaside cottages. Whether you’re in the area for work, en route to France or here for an extended break, we want to make you wish you could stay for longer.
Residents have full access to the restaurant, terrace and bar. Our restaurant is open 7am-9:30pm Monday to Friday and 8am-9:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The public bar is open until midnight but residents may be served from the bar for as long as they wish.
All rooms are supplied with:
