Atmosphere
The Sandgate Hotel is an open, welcoming place with an air of exclusivity, sophisticated yet unpretentious. Our two bars offer very different atmospheres, though a common philosophy underpins them both.
The lounge
The Sandgate Lounge bar is a place to relax. Open seven days a week it offers comfortable and civilised surroundings for good conversation with a wide range of beers, wines, champagnes and spirits.
The lounge is in an open plan space with the dining room, so shares the dining room’s décor and ambience. It’s a place to come on any day, but also for a celebration.
On fine days the terrace extends the lounge (and dining room) out towards the sea. Sit out on our shaded tables and simply enjoy the view. On winter nights sit by the fire and enjoy gentle music in a pleasant environment.
The Wellington Bar
The Wellington Bar on the lower ground floor is the perfect venue for any occasion. It’s a vibrant, good-time place, with good music and the same fine wines you’ll find in the lounge. The Wellington Bar can be hired for
